Ether Saga issue with wine

Im running ubuntu 8.10 running with a video card xpress 200m. I want to play ether saga the latest version found here:Ether Saga - Game Client. The moment i start patcher.exe it immediatly crashes. in the terminal i get the error code

X Error of failed request: BadAlloc (insufficient resources for operation)
Major opcode of failed request: 53 (X_CreatePixmap)

any help
