Btw, What Wine version you are using?

My Wine version 1.1.20. After checking the website, the latest version is 1.1.21 which was released 4 days ago. I could install the new version. Do you think it would help?

Yes, it might help, it dot some directx fixes,

are you installing directx using Winetricks. or using plain wine?

Ok, I updated wine, but that didn't do anything. I don't think I used winetricks to install what you asked for in an earlier post. I did, but now that I think about it, not in the new prefix. Here's my problem trying to do that:

joelcormier@ubuntu:~$ wget http://www.kegel.com/wine/winetricks
--2009-05-15 18:20:17-- http://www.kegel.com/wine/winetricks

HTTP request sent, awaiting response... 200 OK
Length: 71736 (70K) [text/plain]
Saving to: `winetricks.1'

100%[======================================>] 71,736 267K/s in 0.3s

2009-05-15 18:20:18 (267 KB/s) - `winetricks.1' saved [71736/71736]

joelcormier@ubuntu:~$ env WINEPREFIX=~/.wowine winetricks directx9
env: winetricks: No such file or directory

How would I go about putting winetricks in the new prefix?

Edit:

I also got an error trying to install vcrun2008:

Winetricks error: Note: 'wine /home/joelcormier/.winetrickscache/vcrun2008/vcredist_x86.exe' returned status 91. Aborting

Run these commands first.
Quote:
chmod +x winetricks
Quote:
sudo mv winetricks /usr/local/bin
then Run
Quote:
env WINEPREFIX=~/.wowine winetricks
Select package you want to install. it will install and done.

Ok, one more thing. I'm having problems installing vc2008sp1. If you look at the list below, vc2008sp1 is not in there, however, it is on the site that you posted earlier (the winetricks one).

vcrun2008sp1 is shown on site, but its not available yet on Winetricks.
you wont need sp1/vcrun2008 for wow.exe, its used for launcher.exe
just install vcrun2008, and vcrun2005
