hello,
i'm having problems with the program "orion platinum" which is an audio production app.
it worked fine until i enabled the jack support in winecfg but now it crashes ...

[SOLVED] app crashes with page fault on read access
hello,
i'm having problems with the program "orion platinum" which is an audio production app.
it worked fine until i enabled the jack support in winecfg but now it crashes when start it.
what i did until now is:
- reinstall wine
- reinstall the app
- check the permissions of .wine
- disable desktop effects
i also get two errors before the crash, one refers to alsa but sound testing works fine in winecfg. the other one refers to something called quartz which i think is a .dll
i looked around and searched for a long time but nothing helped and i don't know what to try anymore. some help would be very appreciated, i really would like to get back to do some music!

i now tried another thing which was suggested on some forum. for somebody it worked to copy the app to the drive_c folder. for me it didn't
i also tried to run it as sudo -> no change
i run out of ideas...
anybody?

uff i got it finally! the thing was not to install d3dx9 rather than directx9 with winetricks as recomended on the winetricks page. i deleted my .wine folder and tried it again with directx9 and now it works! i also installed vcrun2005 as i already did before so don't really know if it's nececsary but it worked for this error: fixme:actctx
