I have spent hours on this, and all that I can get is that window showing html and javascript code. Can anyone tell me how to make this work? I have the most recent wine, and have tried all the library installs that looked like they had a chance of working. Thanks in advance.

Have you looked at the winehq web site to see if this is a supported game/application? Also, have you tried to install and use the newest Wine 1.4? It is supposed to support a lot of cruft that previous versions did not.

Try using FreeCiv. It's not the same, but it's still a good game.
