Problems installing wine
I can't seem to get wine to instal. I am trying to install Wine 1.5.5 and am using LDME Cinamon. I was told to run in the terminal the following:
sudo dpkg -i libwine*
and I get the following result:
dpkg-split: error: error reading libwine: Is a directory
dpkg: error processing libwine (--install):
subprocess dpkg-split returned error exit status 2
Errors were encountered while processing:
libwine
Thank you for any help.

Are you trying to install Wine from source?
Why not install from the software repos with either apt-get or synaptic?Jay

I downloaded the binaries from the wine site for debian, and package manager said they were installed as they were downloaded. Maybe that was all I needed to do and the other stuff is redundant. I am new to linux so am still learning.
