I've recently moved to linux, after being a long user of windows, and the only program i truly miss is mIRC(i am using x-chat, but mIRC simply is easier for me to work with)

minus a few small quirks i dont mind working around, there is an issue of mIRC running really slow.

I dont have the fastest comptuer, but its a 750 duron w/ 512 megs of ram... mIRC in its base form shouldnt be running as slow as it does.

I looked through the wine config file, and didnt find much that was helpful.

If anyone has any ideas on how to make mIRC or any other program in general run faster, i'd appreciate the help, thanks.
