Data Recovery

I am running a computer with two seperate hard drives one with windows 2000 on it and the other with Mandriva Linux. I am able to access both drives from both operating systems. I would like to use data recovery software to look for old files that were deleted awhile ago on my windows 2000 drive but you always have to run that software from a seperate hard drive. Does anyone know a good recovery software that would run in linux whether it be with WINE or not and be able to recover files from a windows drive,

Thanks,

Matthew

You could always just get a raw dump of your windows partition with
Code:
dd
and then mess with that at your leisure.
Or you could try it from WINE, although I believe there are several native Linux utilities which perform a similar task.

I am not sure that if you run the software on linux platform will be able to recover the data from windows platform. At leat you can try on the demo version of this utility
Stellar Phoenix Linux - Data Recovery Software or it will be better you try also windows version Stellar Phoenix FAT & NTFS - Windows Data Recovery Software
If you succed in recovering your data using linux then please pm.
I have used only windows version and found it was good.

Hope its works for you.
Best of Luck
