    wine help

in order to run a windows program like DC++, in wine, is there anything else needed in addition to the .exe file?
    thanks in advance

You better run the program from original location, or copy all files within the installation folder, cause exe might use dll's, ini's or other files required. Afterwards you may have to spend plenty of time on configuring wine to run your program normally, but this is another story.

Although some programs work well from your windows install, the majority are dependent on the registry entries, particularly those that need serial keys. I would suggest using the original installer and launching that with wine. Pay a visit to the excellent frank's corner to get a working wine config, an d don't forget to get the winetools to get DCOM98 working (needed for the likes of installshield).
