running http-tunnelclient with wine
Hi:
I'm changing my OS from Windows to Linux and I have this problem. I connect to the Internet through a restrictive proxy at work which only open port is the 80. While I was using Windows I used an application from http://www.http-tunnel.com named http-tunnelclient.exe which gives the chance to the user of using programs like Gaim and Emule that need other ports than 80 to be open. I searched the net looking for a similar program for Linux but I didn't find it so I downloaded and installed Wine in my PC trying to run it but I haven't been able to do it. Can anybody here help me?
Thanks

To run a program in wine try typing this in a terminal:
wine nameofexe
do this in the directory you installed it in
if that doesn't work have you tried tor from http://tor.eff.org, it has a linux version

using tor
Thanks a lot. I guess is better if I use Tor's Linux version than trying to run httptunnel-client with wine. I downloaded and installed Tor but I don't know how to configure it so it uses my proxy server to connect to the internet. Can you help me?
Thanks
