    Wine & CD/DVD Drive Setup

Hello all. I'm having a problem getting the wine config to remember my DVD drive. I am running Mepis 6.0 on a Toshiba Satellite laptop.

It initially doesn't show the drive at all. If i hit the 'Auto Detect' button, the drive shows up as 'F: /media/cdrom'. I can then hit 'apply', and then 'ok' to close the wine config window. However, when i next load Winecfg the drive is no longer shown. I've also tried adding the drive with the 'Add' button with the same result.

Additionally, my DVD drive shows up in Konqueror as '/media/hdc'.

I had it working fine on my desktop PC, but i just can't seem to figure it out on my new laptop. Can anyone offer any advice?

    Thanks in advance!
    -Jack

I have the following in my dosdevices directory:
    c:
    d:
    e:
    f:
    h:
    z:

Clicking on the f: drive folder in the directory browses to the DVD drive.

f: does not appear in the winecfg device list.

When doing an auto detect, the DVD drive shows up as g:

I've tried making the changes in winecfg but they are never remembered.

One thing i did notice that might be a big clue is that when i type winecfg in terminal i get the following message:
"Warning: could not find DOS drive for current working directory '/home/scott', starting in the Windows directory."
