Wine -mIRC
Hi there, Linux newbie here. With someone's help, I've installed Wine on my laptop, but I can't get it to work properly, I've consulted the help sections on official sites, but I'm still stuck.
I've downloaded the mirc.exe setup file from download.com (I don't want 6.2), and it opens up, but when I try and set where it should install, things go a bit wrong.
The default installation settings is in c:/program files/mIRC, but if I do that:

But if I don't do that, and go to 'browse' instead, this happens:

Any advice would be appreciated.
I'd also welcome opinions on alternative IRC clients, I've tried xChat and Konversation, but found both to pale in comparison to mIRC. I need a client with:
A 'commands to be executed on connect' section
'remote scripts'
'aliases'

Have you tried typing the desired path into the dialog instead of browsing?
I believe xchat has those functions already.
