Steam at 26% update... but open gl problem when trying to launch from terminal

as stated in title, updating freezes at 26%

when attempting to launch steam.exe from c:\ drive it stalls at 26%

when attempting to launch from terminal with :
wine "C:\Program Files\Steam\Steam.exe" -applaunch 70
I get the following message

sorry, only 2nd day on Linux, followed the Wine HQ guide, and many other including installing mozilla, and active x controls
