i have wine version 0.9.20 installed on my system. My system locale is specified at en_US.UTF8 to accommodate unicode. Typically my system interacts very well with Unicode filename generations of any international characters. I could see arab, thai, chinese, french filenames provided the fonts for specific language is installed.

However, this behaviour seems to fail miserably with wine executed applications. Under those applications, for example, firefox, would view and even input various languages without major issues but when it comes to doing File I/O, like reading a chinese filename or creating an accented french file - it will fail.

My question is: could i correct this File I/O behaviour by doing some tricks with the registry used for wine or any config files associated with wine?
