    Installing WINE on Ubuntu/Mac G3

I'm running a fully-updated version of Ubuntu on a Mac G3. However, I am having difficulty getting Wine installed. If anyone has a suggestion on where to find a good walk-through, I will read it. Otherwise, I'm going to give it a try using another walk-through and post the results of failure here.

EDIT: Thank you, Ozar. Once I saw the Wine forum I realized it was in the wrong place.

As far as I can tell, the problem is that I'm using Linux on a MAC and there are no builds for this. Am I correct? I'm trying to compile from source code, but I still get problems. I'll post those results in a second.

It ain't gonna happen. G3 is powerpc. Wine needs Intel architecture.

Rather than buy a new Mac just run the apps in Linux or OS X.

The only real useful Windows apps have Mac or Linux equivalents or are cross platform anyway.

If your are looking to high end game, G3 is pretty (~500 MHz) weak anyway even if it was possible to get it working well.

Use the G3 as a Ventrilo and/or Unreal chat server on the side and spend the bucks on a gaming machine. Get an Intel Mac and dual boot XP/OS X.
