Google Desktop on Wine ?:???:

I just installed Google Desktop on Wine (just for the heck of it) and when I exited Google Desktop I noticed that I still have a process in background running under wine that continued to index my 'desktop' (in the windows sense).

Is this how it should work on windows or is it just a wine glitch ?

i know a lot of windows programs have a running proccess even when not in use. in windows you would probobly see an icon next to the clock. they do this to make program startup faster. it has the side affect of generaly cloging the system. to stop it just type

killall programname

for instance

killall wowcient.exe

or for regular linux programs

killall firefox
