Problems running Deus Ex
I recently installed Deus Ex with Wine. The install went well, and the game runs perfectly. However, every now and again the game stops responding to keyboard and mouse input. The rest of the game continues, you can just do nothing. This can happen 1 minute to 30 mins running the game.
Just wondering if anyone else has had this. If there is a fix, a patch or some solution, I would be grateful. Thanks in advance

I had this problem. It's connected to the sound options in winecfg. Try switching to OSS instead of ALSA, it should clear up the problem.
I finished the game before finding this out, aaa the frustrations

But I had to remove OSS from my kernel because it conflicted with ALSA, according to the Gentoo handbook anyway

I don't have ALSA or OSS installed into the kernel either, I'm using the modules.
Install aoss instead of OSS http://alsa.opensrc.org/Aoss
For me AOSS is the only way to get audacity to work.
