    Counter strike source

    In windows xp, I run CSS fairly flawlessly (on an Nvidia 7900 GS) however running in wine on ubuntu It just plain runs worse. Does anyone experience equal performance in wine as compared to windows xp? Or is it normal to have a significant decrease in performance. (In windows, all maxxed settings, 1280x800, 80+fps, in ubuntu , lower res. lower settings. 20-40 fps) I've tried -dxlevel 80, and -dxlevel90 as well as changing the sound drivers, nothing really increased the FPS. Suggestions or ideas?

    Wine will give you a lot of performance issues with applications like CS:S and whatnot. I'd say if you want better performance take a look at Cedega by Transgaming.
