on the cedega site its not clear what it costs. It says subscribe, does this mean like subscribe for updates or what? im kinda confused i need help.:confused:

and does cedega work in ubuntu??

i want to know because if i can get it then i can get rid of my winxp for good. games are the only things keeping mr from using only Linux.and I'm fed up with windows.

Cedega will work on Ubuntu and costs about 5 dollars a month with a three month minimum membership. Be aware though that Cedega is NOT a magic program that runs all Windows games as good as under Windows. Some like Trespasser work almost perfectly where others like Halo will barely run if at all. Most fall somewhere in between the two extremes. If you are a Windows gamer, then you need to keep your Windows installation to play games in case your are disappointed with how your favourites run under Wine/Cedega.

i mainly run games on steam like counter-strike wich are supposed to work with cedega. im not a complete all out gamer.ill get a psp or gp2x for that

id be willing to get rid of some games so i could switch its just that im completely addicted to counter strike and dont want to dual-boot anymore

I've never run Counter Strike, but used to play Team Fortress quite a lot under Winex/Cedega and it ran very well. In fact, I got much better pings playing under Winex than I did natively under Windows. Half Life one runs well in Cedega. Half-Life two also runs, but not as well as Half-Life one.

i read on here that someone got counterstrike:source and steam working in wine
so now i dont have to cough up the big $$$$ although thx guys

You don't really have to pay to get Cedega. There's this thing called Cedega CVS which is free. The only problem is that it's a pain in the rear end to install which is the reason they charge for a version which is easier to install. Many people have made guides to installing Cedega CVS, here's one that I've heard works for most people:
