install software with .exe extensions

I have just found this linux forum and am interested in the same thing.
I have a microsoft directx windows register application and am interested
in how to transfer the exe , dll and possibly an active x control
If there is a way to get some of your posted answers I would like to know.

Keep in mind that Linux is NOT Microsoft Windows, so getting software designed for MS Windows to work on Linux is a hack job at best. You will likely not get nearly as good performance and the programs may not work correctly, or even work at all.

WINE is the main free way to try to get EXEs to work. CodeWeavers CrossOver is another way, but it is not free. Its main focus is office applications. Cedega is another non-free option whose sole purpose is gaming.
