Installing with wine

Hey i am new to linux and i have an aspire one with linpus lite and i was able to download wine but i cannot get it to install anything that i download. I have been looking on the net now for a while and just cant seem to get it. When i download the file it gets saved to the Desktop and all the sites just say type "wine pokerstarsinstall.exe" in the terminal and it should run. But it looks in the "c;\windows\system32\" folder and says that the module cannot be found. Does anyone know how to transfer files to this folder from the desktop or make the terminal look somewhere else.
