Quicken 2007 and Wine
Well, after many hours spent searching through many forum threads and reading nearly the entire WineHQ site, I have found no way to run Quicken 07 in wine. The installer will run -up until it informs me that I do not have Microsoft's "High Security" package installed. I assume that this means that there is a dll the installer is looking for in relation to some kind of security update. Has anyone else tried this combination? I know that some earlier versions of Quicken WILL run on wine, but this one won't. My Windows machine has finally died a horrible death and I am loathe to return to another. I have way too much data invested in Quicken to switch over to anything I have seen so far ie kmymoney or gnucash.Any and all input very welcome.

Why not just continue using an older version of Quicken? There couldn't be a whole lot of significant differences as far as it's essential functions go.
Yes, that would be one option except that as far as I know there Are some problems opening my backup files with an older version. That and I don't have an older version to try anymore.
that's life. I might be stuck with setting up a dual-boot. Yuck...
Dual boot is not so bad. You might want to consider either running Windows inside a virtual machine like Xen or VMware. Another option might be to run it from Linux from within Win4Lin. :)
I haven't tried that app myself, but

Codeweavers is a good company; a lot of the money they get
from selling Crossover goes right back into improving vanilla Wine.
