Sam Broadcaster 2.8.1 DB error

Hi, we need an help from you because we are trying to use Sam Broadcaster on ubuntu 6.10 and we still have problems.
the procedure used is this:
* installed mysql on linux (working)
* installed wine 9.30 (working)
* installed IEs4linux (working)
* installed Native ODBC following the procedure in wiki.winehq.org/NativeOdbc
* installed Sam Broadcaster 2.8.1

after all these steps starting Sam we receive always this result "Db connection failed"

Can you suggest us how to overcome this problem?

nobody can help me?
