Suse 10.1, KDE 3.5 and Wine Problem

Hello there. :)
I've recently installed Wine through the Software package of Suse (repositiries) as root.
Everything went well and i was able to launch windows software on my linux system.

Then i logged out from root and logged in with plain user privilages.
Tried to install software but I couldnt...
Tried to run some of the already installed windows applications and couldnt.

As root i could connect through a null cable (serial port) to my satellite receiver
but as a regular user the software couldnt find any port at all.

What is wrong?
Seems like i can have a fully operational wine only as root.
