Wireless issue (FC7)...

I have an HP laptop (dv2000), and it has an Intel PRO/Wireless 3945 wireless card in it. Now it worked for the longest time (actually it worked right out of the box until a few days ago). Since then whenever I boot up, it gives me the following message:

Error for wireless request "Set Mode" (8B06) :
SET failed on device wlan0 ; Device or resource busy.

Determining IP information for wlan0... [Failed]

When I go into the Network application in the System menu, and select my wlan0 connection, I go to the Hardware Device tab, it doesn't show the Intel card anymore, just a generic wlan0 - wlan8.

I uninstalled my Intel 3945 drivers and reinstalled them since (using yumex, I'm not sure if that was the best option... but it doesn't seem like there are any dependencies or anything - I could be wrong), and that hasn't fixed the issue.

Does anyone have any idea how to fix this? I wasn't sure if I should post this here or in the Fedora/Red Hat forum.

Thanks in advance.

For what it's worth, this is the only thing that does not appear to work. The ethernet works fine, as does sound, video, pretty much everything else. I'm not sure if that narrows down any possibilities or not.

-EDIT-

I got it kind of working. By enabling NetworkManager and NetworkManagerDispatcher, I am able to get it working once it boots up but I still have that nasty hang up at boot time.

Wireless issue FC7

I too am having problems with my wireless.

Error for wireless request "Set Mode" (8B06) :
SET failed on device wlan0 ; Device or resource busy.

Determining IP information for wlan0... [Failed]

I googled set mode (8B06) and this is what I came up with

this error is generated probably because you have not set the wireless
mode to 'Managed' with the network configuration tool used by your Linux
distribution. Setting it to 'Managed' will likely solve this issue.

This was a reply is from a Linux specialist, which I am far from, however, this got rid of the SET mode error.
I am still trying to work out why I cannot connect via wireless, but I hope this will move you closer to getting connected.

Cheers

I fixed it since. I used NetworkManager and NetworkManagerDispatcher in the Services. Once I turned that on and told Fedora not to activate the wireless card on startup, it fixed the problem.
