Help me connect to wireless network

Can someone walk me through the linux equivalent of this (pdf file)? I have wifi-radar and wpa_supplicant installed.

Edit: I'm using Zenwalk 4.6.1 and my wireless card is working perfectly fine.

WPA supplicant is very simple to configure, just use the example configuration and change it to what you need.

I can't quite figure out what to put in my configuration file given those requirements in the instructions.

And also, I use hermes, but wpa_sup claims that I don't have the hermes driver installed. Even when not using wpa_sup, I can see the hermes module loaded via lsmod. The only driver that works is wext
