Wireless Setting

I have installed fedora core 6 and /sbin/lspci command shows

05:00.0 Network controller: Intel Corporation PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Network Connection (rev 02)

this as installed wireless network card. So i installed ipw3945 driver using freshrpm's repository. Now it shows the card in the network config. But am not able to configure the network settings.

Now in the network configuration when ever i try to connect to the wireless internet an error comes sayin:-

Error for wireless request "Set Bit Rate"(8b20):
Set failed on device eth1: Invalid argument.

Determining IP information for eth1 .... failed; no link present.
check cable?

But i am able to connect to this router using windows xp.

The settings i use on my wireless routers are..
wireless network mode:- mixed
wireless channel:- 6
Security mode:- WPA-preshared key
wpa algorithm:- tkip
group key renewal:- 3600

can anyone help me in this case.
