from 114kb/s to a max of 12kb/s, why?
Hi All
I am accessing a network that is offers a T1 speed bandwidth. My download had reached 120 kb/s now however it wont go beyond 12kb/s.
There aren't many users on the network and the ones taht are are not using up that much of the bandwidth.
Any ideas on why it might have slowed down so much, and ihow i can track it
many thanks

Is this a particular download? Is it possible the remote server is stressed on under load?

no actually it was 3 different downloads from different servers. When another user on the same network starts a download they are able to get speeds up to 100+ kb/s thats when my speed drops to less than 5kb/s.
Even when I shutdown everything, to my knowledge, that could be using the bandwidth, i.e. browser, skype, checkgmail...
thanks
