Now that I'm back home and on my winter break, I decided to bring home my laptop from college. For some reason, I can't connect to my home wireless network when I'm on my linux partition(OpenSuse 10.3) but I can connect to it just fine when I'm on my vista partition. I am able to connect to my university's network just fine when I'm up there, but I just can't connect to my own home's network through KNetworkManager when I'm on my linux partition. I am using a Netgear WG111v2 usb dongle using the ndiswrapper module for the windows drivers. I can connect to the internet just fine with a wired connection, but fail using my wireless dongle on my linux partition.

I currently have all of the security features disabled on my router temporarily just for easy access. KNetworkManager does list the wireless signal, it just has trouble on the "Activation state: Configuring device" part (stuck at 28%)

post the output of i also want you to literlty sit 3 feet away from thr router and try to connect at a high strenth signal. (post back results)

also have you tried to use the KwifiManager (might need to apt-get install)

hmm strange, when I sit right infront of the router I can connect to the signal, but anywhere else I have difficulties(even though I can sit in the same area and still get a signal under windows)
