FC8 / BCM4311 in Compaq: Does this look ok/not?

Hi,

I am having some difficulty connecting to my wireless hub with WAP enabled from my Compaq C700 notebook with built-in BCM4311 wireless. Can an expert look at my syslog output and tell me if I am working in the right direction? I am worried about the couple of error messages and wondering if I need to do some extra config.

Thanks.

This pretty much says it all.

The Broadcom chipsets need firmware loaded to run. You can try the one that it says to download, or you can extract it from your Windows driver yourself. You will need to install b43-fwcutter or the earlier version bcm43xx-fwcutter. The firmware usually goes in the /lib/firmware folder.

You also can use NDISwrapper to drive Broadcom chipsets. The b43 module would need to be blacklisted in order for NDISwrapper to work.
