internet connection won't last
Hi All,
I installed Linux, and when I tried to connect to the internet, it connected and stayed connected for 15 minutes or less, then disconnected, tried to reconnect but failed. When I looked in the wireless internet connections, it didn't show my connection, but it did when it was connected. When I use Windows XP the internet works fine, so i think it's a problem with Linux. Can someone please tell me how to get it working? And if it requires programming, where do I do the programming? I am using Ubuntu. Right now I am typing this message in Windows.
Thanks for the help

a little more detail:
1. what wireless card
2. what kind of router
I use ndiswrapper, if you want I can find instructions for your specific card (it's a program that uses windows wireless drivers in Linux).

Okay,
I have a wireless USB adapter, and it is: Dell 1450 Model: D1450U.
My wireless router: Actiontec MI424-WR Rev.c. I use Verizon FIOS internet.
I hope this helps.
P.S. Sorry for the wait, it took me some time to find this info.
