Post LInux Drivers for wfi card

Hello everyone

I've often tinkered with Linux and downloaded many flavours, however my wlan card never works - its not recognised.

I've just downloaded some linux drivers and ideally would like to install the card and try, to begin with Puppy Linux.

I have a deb file, a tar file and a rpm zip directory. The card is a Safecome SLWC-54108

What do I do next after I run Puppy from the to install the drivers?

Hope to hear from you

Simon

PS Am a linux novice but would dearly love to learn more.

Thanks

Welcome to the forums, Simon!

I don't run any wireless devices myself so can't help your wifi issue directly, but here's a HowTo giving the steps to several different ways of installing software under Linux that might help to get you going:

http://www.linuxforums.org/forum/lin...are-linux.html

Also, note that you can often find specific installation instructions within some downloaded files themselves once you've extracted them.

Let us know how it goes.

Post the output of these commands, so that we can see what type of chipset it uses.
Code:
/sbin/lspci
Code:
/sbin/lsusb
If the command is not found, try without the path (/sbin/).
