    ubuntu wireless

I am having a problem with the wireless connection with ubuntu on my Dell Inspiron 1525 laptop-I have 2 files that I can enter on the terminal to turn on my wireless but if I restart or shut down then turn the computer back on the wireless does not go on. I have to reenter the files on the terminal to get the wireless to come back on. Does anybody know how I can get the wireless to come on automatically on boot up? I have ubutu 8.10. My laptop is dual booted with Vista basic home edition and the wireless comes on automatically when I boot it up--- Thanx in advance----skilloran
