You have a Broadcom BCM4328 according to the information presented. Here's an article for that wireless chipset using Ubuntu 7.10, but the instructions should work for any distro. Basically you need a copy of the Windows XP drivers for the card (should be available on the Dell website) and a program called NDISWrapper.

I'm running Opensuse 11.1.
- 04-02-2009 #9
In SuSE you will then need to configure the card using YaST. Try this:
Open YaST from main menu:
Computer -->YaST
Network Devices-->Network Settings
On the "Global options" tab, make sure that this is selected:
User Controlled with NetworkManager
Now click the "Overview" tab. Click on the wireless device, in the list, to highlight it. Then click the "Edit" button at the bottom. On the "Hardware" tab, click on the "Select Module Name" dropdown box. If the ndiswrapper module is loaded, it should be an option.
In the "Address" tab, select --> Dynamic Address: DHCP
from the dropdown box. Save the configuration and maybe reboot. Make sure that the ndiswrapper is loading at boot using the lsmod command, and the wireless should work.Paul

Update!!!!!!
Alright well sorry to say but i bailed on opensuse, i really liked it but a friend of mine mentioned to me that for some odd reason Ubuntu/Kubutnu 8.04 both support my Broadcom BCM4328 Wireless card right out of the box. It is a very weird but i went into the live CD for each and sure enough i could connect to the networks without using NDISWRAPPER or any other back door fixes.
Another thing i noticed is that the 8.10 versions of both of those distros does not work the same way. For some reason or another 8.04 just works with my card although absolutely no other distro would.
Does anyone know why this could possibly happen, and what could have been changed in the 8.10 versions in order to stop this from working?
