Hello, and welcome to Linux Forums.

This is the wireless card:
Code:
0c:00.0 Network controller [0280]: Broadcom Corporation BCM4322 802.11a/b/g/n Wireless LAN Controller [14e4:432b] (rev 01)
There is a Linux driver available, but it is not enabled by default. First, open the Hardware Drivers manager.

System-->Administration-->Hardware Drivers.

There should be an entry named "Broadcom STA wireless driver". Put a check in the "enabled" box, disable the b43 driver, if present, and reboot. If you also have a Broadcom wired network card, it may cause problems.

When I access
System > Administration > Hardware Drivers
The only drivers that it talks about are thrid part and propriety drivers
I haven't the slightest clue how to access the rest of the drivers on the system

The Broadcom STA wireless driver is a third party/proprietary driver. You should enable/install the linux-restricted-modules package. Use apt or the Synaptic program to do this.
Code:
sudo apt-get install linux-restricted-modules
You need a wired internet connection to install the wireless driver. Do you have that? If not, down load the driver from here:
Broadcom Corporation - Broadcom 802.11 Linux STA driver

See the README file on the same page for instructions. Also, you can follow these instructions.

Installing Broadcom 802.11 Linux STA driver Lost in Cyberspace

Make sure that first you have these programs installed:

Code:
sudo apt-get install linux-source
Code:
sudo apt-get install linux-headers
Code:
sudo apt-get install build-essential

Use the kernel version in the command. To have it automatically use the current kernel version, use this.
Code:
sudo apt-get install linux-restricted-modules-`uname -r`
Those are backticks surrounding the uname command. This is a way to execute a command within a command. Otherwise, just try this:
Code:
sudo apt-get install linux-restricted-modules-2.6.27-11-generic
