could not connect Wi-Fi

In my office there is a Wi-Fi broadband connection.usually ppl access internet thruogh the wireless divice in laptop.bt my Laptop cud not connect WiFi today.
whn i checked network configuration i found everything is ok but the status is inactive.it does not get active also.there is no prob in WiFI connection.there is some prob on my laptop.i am using redhat linux enterprise 5 .help!!

in linux 2 computers shows in favour of lan network or wireless net.bt my laptop is not showing it

Were you able to connect previously? Or is this a new install?

We need some detailed information before we can help you troubleshoot it. Read through the stickied post, linked to below. It describes how to find the information that we need.

Wireless Setup - Start Here

RHEL is not know for having very good wireless support. It has no wireless connection manager, so I recommend installing Wicd.

actually i gave my lapy to my frnd...i dont knw what he did.afterdat wifi is nt getting connected

problem connecting wifi

my eth0 is configured for wireless network.it is configured as automatic obtain IP address settings.the problem is..once it gets disconnected it doesnt connect again untill i restart my laptop.is there any solution???
if theIP addresses is set by me.is it gonna b ok??

What distro are you using? Are you using NetworkManager? WICD? Neither?

distro = Linux Distribution
Linux Distribution = Fedora 10, openSUSE11.2, Ubuntu 9.04. etc.
