Testing it in vista is not the same as trying it in a Linux based LiveCD. We are trying to make it work in Linux, and most of us around here couldn't give a d*mn about vista.

Re-compiling the kernel is a pretty drastic step to take, especially if you don't need to. You could always try the latest version of Linux drivers by installing the compat-wireless drivers.

    Download - Linux Wireless

I would just download the latest tarball.

Fun fact: Vista broke within one day of taking the computer out of the box, and I see no reason to fix it.

Compat-wireless fixed things--I have working wireless internet now.

    Thank you very much!

    That's good news!

I haven't been much help to anybody lately, I'm glad that has changed.

Don't feel bad we all have our moments of "Nothing works for me anymore". Wireless is the Linux worlds worse offender in this category IMO. It just keeps constantly changing and it's a different recipe for each distro it seems like. Keep at it buddy, you'll pull out.

Yeah, I've been going around and around with a few members' wireless problems. And I don't seem to be accomplishing much.

    Except getting dizzy!
