display freezes when trying to connect wireless

hi , I've just installed 9.04 on my machine. When I try to configure and connect to the internet, the display goes blank and no commands are possible (even from a CTL-F4) alternate console).

I've run and collected wireless_setup.txt info. I cannot see anything wrong here. Can someone with more experience advise an action plan to properly configure xstart?

Thanks

Because I cannot seem to do an attachment, here is the output.

Code:

Your wireless is using the ath9k driver module. I had trouble connecting with my wireless that uses the same driver, but it didn't freeze my system.

To connect I had to uninstall NetworkManager and install Wicd. Wicd is available from the Ubuntu repositories. When you install Wicd, NetworkManager should automatically be uninstalled.

Also make sure you install wpasupplicant. wicd uses it to connect to WPA encrypted networks.
