You did say that you were posting, using the 4212 wireless card. But the output of iwconfig shows no active wireless connections. I'm confused.

You know, I've noticed this with the wl driver. On my Dell Mini 9 running Arch, I use wicd to manage the network, and iwconfig shows eth1 just as here, without a network association. It's weird.

    lo no wireless extensions.

    eth0 no wireless extensions.

    eth1 IEEE 802.11 Nickname:""

    Link Quality:1 Signal level:175 Noise level:166

    Still a bit confused.

If the BCM4312 is in the computer that you are also posting with, then you are using it. Is it also the same computer that you are trying to get the rt2870sta driver to work?

Also the wlan0 desiganation for a wireless is usually just an alias, assigned by the system.

rastro123: If you recall at the beginning of this thread, I wasn't sure which driver would mke this wireless work. My best guess was the rt2870sta, but it doesn't appear to be working.

Re-read the first few posts where I mention somw other drivers. You may want to try the rt3070sta driver, then even the rt73 driver.

Otherwise, you may just have to use NDISwrapper for this. NDISwrapper uses the WinXP driver to make a wireless work. Vista drivers won't work, it must be a WinXP/W2k driver.
