no wireless on HP laptop/ubuntu-> help needed

maybe I have more luck in this thread, running ubuntu./dual boot with XP. At the moment Ubuntu will not even boot (!).

HP DV1000 series laptop.

Tried this: sudo apt-get install b43-fwcutter, but driver can not be found, try searching the internet, most likely is driver not available or not properly tested yet.

Someone who can help me out? Very close uninstalling the whole sh*t and going back to XP (it's getting too complicated, pity).
