Unstable wireless connection - Wicd Network Manager
Hello, my wireless connection is not stable. Originally, I had NetworkManager. At first it wouldn't detect a wireless network, and then once I was able to establish a connection it would drop approx one minute later. I then installed Wicd, no problems with establishing a connection, but my wireless Internet will disconnect after 5 minutes or so. Granted, I get better results with Wicd, but it is still frustrating.
I've been researching through multiple search methods and I'm not making much progress. If the answer is in another thread, please direct me to it. I appreciate the help in advance : )

I apologize I didn't include this in the original post, I have Linux Mint 8. Thanks : )

First, see if Mint offers another driver for the wireless. I am not too familiar with Mint, but somewhere in the menus there should be something called "Hardware Drivers" or "Hardware Manager" or something similar.
Once you have located that, look to see if it offers a different wireless driver. The current one is named "b43", and the one that you are looking for could be named "Broadcom-wl" or "Broadcom-STA" or even "Linux-STA".
If that route doesn't work, we can try something else.Paul
