EC 121 Reliance Data card
I am trying to connect net using Huwai EC 121 usb modem in Linux mechine running FC 5. By cat /proc/bus/usb/devices I found that vendor id= 12d1 and product=1411. I modeprobe usbserial vendor=0x12d1 product=0x1411. I confirmed it by using lsmod. I also found that module usb-storage is also loaded there. I removed this module by rmmod usb-storage. Then I configured wvdial.conf
as follows :
init = ATZ
init2 = ATQ0 M1 L1 X3 V1 E1 S0=0 &C1 &D2+ Fclass=0
Modem type = analog modem
ISDN=0
abort on no Dialtone = false
new PPPd yes
phone= #777
modem = /dev/ttyUSB0
username = 10 digit no
pwd = 10 digit no
once for a small period I succeeded in making the connection.
But after that I failed to connect.
Error message is "Modem not responding"
I am able to use it in my window mechine.
Please help.
Thanks

If you really want to get this to work, I would suggest that you first install the latest version of Fedora. Fedora Core 5 is old and no longer supported with updates. The latest version is Fedora 12.
