Do you have a wired connection? If so, Ubuntu has a graphical tool, I think under System->Administration->Hardware Drivers, which will install the driver. Or from the command line do
Code:sudo apt-get install bcmwl-kernel-source

Ok, once I do that, how do I find the wireless networks that I want to connect to? Nothing shows up...
Under the hardware drivers window you talked about above, it says that the driver is activated, but not in use...how do I use it?

Is the driver loading? Please post the output of
Code:lsmod iwconfig

I'm mostly running on windows right now, so I restarted into Ubuntu earlier, and this error message appeared:
Kernel panic - not syncing: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on unknown-block
and it doesn't start up...what now?
