    As stated below, we tried the switch earlier. I realize that something kept switching it off, but we just couldn't figure out what it was.

    There's no data on the computer (given the beta OS and the fact that I have a bad hard drive, there won't be)

    That's usually considered to be a software switch. I believe reed9 and I were looking for a hardware switch.

    well had this same problem but a quick reinstallation got me over it.
