Hello, i'm running UNR on a Dell Inspiron mini 1012 (Dual Booted with windows 7). I right clicked on the network icon and added a new wireless network, filled in all fields, and chose connect automatically. The network icon still showed no connection, and when clicking on it this is what you get:
Wired Network
disconnected
VPN Connections >
I looked through the forum here and tried several things, including turning on wirless interface from the BIOS. Output of iwconfig gives:
and according to lspci my wireless device is BCM4312 802.11b/g.lo no wireless extensions
etho no wireless extensions

You need the broadcom wl driver. If you have a wired connection, you can do
Code:sudo apt-get install bcmwl-kernel-source
