You missed the output of lspci. If it helps you can redirect the output to a text file to make it easier to deal with.
It will be created in your current working directory.Code:/sbin/lspci -vnn > lspci.txt

lspci = list pci devices
lsmod = list loaded kernel modules
First step of troubleshooting is just to figure out exactly what hardware and drivers you are using.
Your two wireless devices are
The broadcom is the built in card, the atheros is your pci express card.Code:02:00.0 Network controller [0280]: Broadcom Corporation Device [14e4:4357] (rev 01) Subsystem: Hewlett-Packard Company Device [103c:145e] Flags: bus master, fast devsel, latency 0, IRQ 16 Memory at da100000 (64-bit, non-prefetchable) [size=16K] Capabilities: [40] Power Management version 3 Capabilities: [58] Vendor Specific Information <?> Capabilities: [48] Message Signalled Interrupts: Mask- 64bit+ Queue=0/0 Enable- Capabilities: [d0] Express Endpoint, MSI 00 Capabilities: [100] Advanced Error Reporting <?> Capabilities: [13c] Virtual Channel <?> Capabilities: [160] Device Serial Number 17-c4-5d-ff-ff-fe-00-00 Capabilities: [16c] Power Budgeting <?> Kernel driver in use: wl Kernel modules: wl 05:00.0 Network controller [0280]: Atheros Communications Inc. I'm not aware of any conflict between drivers claiming to different devices. There is often conflict if you have multiple drivers for the same device loading. So far things look ok.
Let's look at your wireless interfaces. Can you post the output of
Are you using a network manager program or how are you setting up your network connection?Code:iwconfig

Ok. wlan0 should be your atheros interface.
Does this show local networks?
Code:sudo ifconfig wlan0 up sudo iwlist wlan0 scan

Well, it does seem to be working fine. When you said before that the wireless didn't work, can you describe more what you were doing or trying? What specifically wasn't working?
