I just finished installing Debian on vmware and I've been trying to setup my wireless connection for the last four hours but I am still having some troubles. When I use WICD, or network manager to try and connect to a wireless network, it connects, but at the bottom of wicd, where it shows the percentage of the signal strength, the percentage keeps dropping until it reaches 0 and then finally disconnects. I know it's not my wireless usb adapter because it works fine in Windows. I had the same problem on Backtrack4 where I would connect to a network and sometimes it would connect for a couple of seconds and then it would disconnect, or sometimes it just wouldn't connect at all.

Would any of you know what could be going wrong? thankks
