    Dell Inspiron N5010 wireless card DW1501 not working

    Bought a new laptop, installed Mandriva 2010.1 Free Gnome 64. Just cannot get the wireless card to work. Tried:

    Loading the broadcom-wl binary rpms - fail

    Tried ndiswrapper, but there are only Win7 drivers for this card.

    Tried compiling drivers from Broadcom site, compile fails in a non-specific way.

    Tried installing the compat-wireless drivers - lost my bluetooth

    Now completely stuck - any ideas?

    What do you mean by 'fail' regarding the RPMs? Did they not install? Did they install but not change anything?

    Yes, they install fine, but the card is not recognised.
