I think it's PCI Express. It plugs in to the side of my laptop and has a connector that resembles a compact flash card.

Was it plugged in when you issued the commands? I believe you are referring to a PCMCIA card. Looks like one of these?
PC Card - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Do you have any other LiveCD's or distros laying around that you could try these commands on? Your card is showing up in numerical code above and I don't know which one it is.I do not respond to private messages asking for Linux help, Please keep it on the forums only.

- 10-24-2010 #9For a pcmcia cards you can get information on the chip by opening the console and typing "cardctl ident " at the command prompt, then press enter. This will help identify the correct driver to load in Puppy's connection wizard. e.g.Code:
# cardctl ident Socket 0: no product info available Socket 1: product info: "Realtek", "Rtl8139" manfid: 0x0000, 0x024c function: 6 (network)
From Puppy Linux Discussion Forum :: View topic - Identifying the chipset in your wireless card.Pay attention to the line which has "manfid: 0x0000, 0x024c' on it as you can use this string to search the net find the chip should the line with the product info be incorrect. My pcmcia card identified the chip as "Rtl8139" which was not actually correct. I had help from Tempestuous who pointed out this discrepancy and identified the correct driver to use. I needed to use the "r8180" driver listed in the wireless wizard to get a working connection.
Might help out in Puppy, TBob, maybe. Since I run Puppy partition along with AntiX. I go to menu>system>pupscan interface>pci(or usb)interfaces to get the chipset manufacturer and driver the card needs. Hope that helps.
Edit: also below is pciids for the code puppy uses.

took a while. but
looks like0d:00.0 Class 0200: 11ab:1fa6 (rev 07)
from the sourceforge link which I have a hard time figuring out to use. For me, menu>system>pupscan interface is a lot easier.11ab

2nd edit: Below is the Windows driver in case he needs it in zip format. In case ndiswrapper is the only route.
From D-link Dwl 630 - BleepingComputer.comP.S. For anyone needing a driver for D-Link DWL 630 VERSION A use this link:
D-Link DWL 630 Driver Ubuntu
This is for pciid: 11ab:1fa6 and also work for the dwlg510 which is the pci bus version of the PCMCIA DWL 630. The only working driver for me was the Windows 98 Driver. That’s on a Dell Latitude CPX-H.
The Windows Driver
I downloaded it. Extracted it and looked inside. It has the folders for Win ME, 98,2k, and XP.
3rd Edit.
