[SOLVED] Dell Inspiron 1545 wireless help request (Linux Mint 9)

I'm interested in using a linux distro as a full time OS. I have been running vista since it came out, and as much as I would like to say that I like it.. Frankly, I just don't.. I have tried upgrading to 7, but that just brought a different array of issues due to compatibility and such with hardware.

:EDIT: So Uppon farther trial and error, I noticed an icon of a small chip with a padlock in the bottom right corner... Curriously, I clicked it, and an option for activating both the b43 driver and the sta driver. My only problem is not having a wired connection to retrieve either.

so that leads me to the next question.. would I be able to boot the sta from an sd card?

If you haven't found out yet, the broadcom sta driver is available on the the installation CD. (Well it is for Ubuntu and therefore presumably is for Mint.)
