    [SOLVED] ath9k TX-power in linux-2.6.38


    Im using an AR9285 Wireless Network Adapter as an access point and with 2.6.38-kernels I get worthless reception, I basically have to be in the same room as the AP in order to get any kind of connection. The only difference as far as I know is a somewhat lower tx-power using 2.6.38.

    My questions
    Could there be anything besides the lower tx-power that explains the crappy reception?
    Can I somehow force a higher tx-power, the card obviously can handle it, "iw wlan0 set txpower fixed value" just returns EEINVAL for values >1700 in 2.6.38 and >2000 in 2.6.37?

    Nevermind, the tx power was a red herring, modprobing ath9k with "nohwcrypt=1" solved it.
